FACILITATION
Designing and managing meetings
Outside facilitators are often useful in
looking after the design and management of a meeting, so
that your group, organisation or community can focus on the
content of the task before you. Together we will agree on
an aim and objective and we will work with you to achieve
them. Facilitation is often helpful for groups
that are working well together but have some difficult issues
to deal with and want to have a good process that strengthens
their relationship. Maintaining good relationships whilst
managing change is a process that can also benefit from good
facilitation. MNI’s strength is in creating the facilitated
space where people can deal with difficulty in a constructive
way.
John begins to think that it is
time for his group to start working with Mary’s group.
He decides to raise this at the next committee meeting.
Knowing that it will be a
difficult discussion, John wants the meeting facilitated
by someone from outside. He wants things to move forward,
but not at the cost of splitting the committee. He asks MNI
to facilitate because they can be impartial and keep the
meeting focused.
