our History

Originally founded in 1987 as the ‘Northern Ireland Conflict Mediation Association’, and registered as a charity in 1991, the ‘Mediation Network’ evolved in the 1990s as an agency to promote the practice of mediation and train mediators in Northern Ireland.

In recognition of advances in the Peace Process and the growing diversity of mediation practice, the Mediation Network re-organised itself as ‘Mediation Northern Ireland’ in the Autumn of 2002.

Please view this website's Archive section for a collection of speeches and papers about the history and work of Mediation Northern Ireland.
